Joining the DTG
The DTG welcomes organisations involved in the development and marketing of digital television worldwide as members. The various categories of membership are explained below; further details and information are available from the DTG office.
Full Membership
Full Membership is available to organisations with a genuine and active interest in digital television. Full Membership offers online access to the D-Book, access to draft specifications, email updates when new versions of the D-Book are published, direct participation in the development of technical specifications through access to DTG working groups and entitlement to vote at general meetings.
World Membership
World Membership is for organisations keen to investigate the UK model for digital terrestrial television but who are not active in the UK market. World Members receive online access to the D-Book, access to draft specifications and email updates when new versions of the D-Book are published.
New Entrant Membership
New Entrant Membership is for start-up organisations in their first or second year of operations that are entering the digital television industry with new products or services and do not yet have an established revenue stream. For eligibility purposes organisations are considered as a whole, and where a substantial part of a start-up organisation's activities derive from a pre-existing business, New Entrant Membership will not be available.
New Entrant Membership provides subsidised access to Full Member benefits. After two years of New Entrant Membership the member organisation will be automatically upgraded to Full Membership.
Affiliate membership
Affiliate Membership is offered to organisations that have an interest in Group activities. In the case of UK and international not-for-profit organisations, trade associations, registered charities, special interest groups and central government departments, no membership fee is payable. Affiliate Members do not have access to the D-Book. Representatives of Affiliate Members may attend DTG non-D-Book meetings by invitation.
All DTG members receive the following benefits:
- Free hire of the DTG's meeting and conference facilities (subject to availability and conditions)
- Free use of the Wireless Test & Innovation Centre (subject to availability and conditions)
- Quarterly research ‘Insight’ bulletins on key trends in the UK and international broadcast and consumer electronics market
- A weekly DTG e-bulletin
- Free access to DTG events
- Discounts on delegate places at a range of digital TV industry events
