BSkyB is reportedly gearing up for an overhaul of its pioneering interactive television service, Sky Active.
According to New Media Age, the broadcaster is poised to recruit a number of senior executives to revamp its new media strategy. They include the new position of Sky Interactive editor who will report to head of marketing and strategy Alasdair Wright.
New Media Age said the appointment would lead to a new five-year plan for Sky Active, and would coincide with the development of its online strategy.
Sky Active offers Sky's 7.3m direct-to-home subscribers a number of streamed news and entertainment video loop services. It also hosts commercial services with partners such as lastminute.com and The National Lottery.
