Telcast plans global DTT channel

German specialist broadcaster Telcast is reportedly planning to launch a global network on digital terrestrial television. According to C21Media the network will be based on its current franchise, earthTV.

Telcast specialises in gathering images from cameras positioned all over the world, controlled centrally in Munich. It sells footage and feeds to broadcasters, in particular travel and sports channels.

Founder Thomas Hohenacke told C21Media he hoped the channel would be up and running "early next year".
