DTG Council has confirmed the appointment of Richard Lindsay-Davies as DTG Director General. Lindsay-Davies, who has extensive experience in digital television and consumer electronics industries, joined the DTG two years ago as Director of Public Affairs. Since March, when he was appointed Acting Director General, he has steered the DTG through a review of its strategy, mapping its activities as the UK approaches digital switchover.
DTG Chairman Professor David Youlton said: "Richard's experience ranges from engineering through to consumer marketing in the consumer electronics and digital TV industries. This has given him a unique insight into the entire digital TV value chain and I believe that this, combined with his tenacity and strong analytical and creative skills, will ensure he serves and leads the organisation to meet the demands of the future."
Lindsay-Davies, who has held senior roles in engineering, design and marketing at Sony, Toshiba and Pace Micro Technology, said: "Having managed the DTG through the recent strategic review, I am now ready to build on this, develop an inspired and driven team and work with the membership to deliver the commercial and technical objectives set out by Council.
"I see leading the ongoing process of strategic and organisational renewal as critical to the future success of the DTG and I look forward to embracing this with determination and passion."
As part of the DTG's reorganisation Lindsay-Davies will now join the panel recruiting the new Technical Director and Commercial Director.
