Sky Sports is offering multi-platform coverage of The Ryder Cup for the first time on standard and high-definition TV, interactively at Sky Sports Active, online at and on handsets via Sky Mobile TV.

The Ryder Cup is the first golf event to be broadcast live in HD. Sky Active will provide highlights of each day's play, off-course coverage from the press room and practice areas, and a video tour of each hole.

Two video streams will be available online for Sky Sports subscribers, accessed via live coverage from start to finish across all three days and a constantly updated highlights stream. Live coverage starts today.

Last month Sky launched a second HD sports channel, Sky Sports HD2. Sister channel Sky Sports HD1 launched with the initial Sky HD channel portfolio in May.

Other channels available on Sky HD include Sky One HD, two Sky Movies HD screens, Sky Box Office HD, Artsworld HD, Discovery HD and National Geographic HD, plus the BBC's trial HD channel.
