Media regulator Ofcom has published the timetable for its review of the UK's wholesale digital TV broadcast platforms.
The review will assess the degree of competition between different digital broadcasting platforms, such as digital terrestrial television (DTT) and digital satellite television (DST).
"This analysis will then inform Ofcom's assessment of regulation of Technical Platform Services, such as conditional access and electronic programme guides, and fair and effective competition conditions, contained in DTT multiplex licences," said Ofcom.
Ofcom expects to publish its first consultation in early 2007 which will present proposals on market definitions and assessments of market power.
