The National Geographic Channel's UK arm is set to launch a new digital channel showcasing the best of its wildlife programming. Launching on March 1, 2007, Nat Geo Wild will be carried on Sky and ntl.

NGC already broadcasts an HD version of its flagship channel on Sky. George Jeffrey, managing director of NGC UK, said the combination of NGC, NGC HD and Nat Geo Wild would "provide the best possible mix of programming for our partners and our viewers".

NGC is working on new distribution opportunities for Nat Geo Wild, including mobile TV and broadband video.
