US digital satellite TV provider EchoStar and its DISH Network has come top in a customer satisfaction survey of satellite and cable TV subscribers, according to US consumer research company J.D. Power and Associates.
In its 2004 Syndicated Cable/Satellite TV Customer Satisfaction Study, the survey places Echostar at the top of the rankings for the third time in six years, beating News Corporation's rival DirecTV satellite service.
EchoStar also claims to be the fastest growing multi-channel TV provider over the last four years. The DISH Network was allocated 725 out of 1,000 points - a 72.5% satisfaction rating. The average for cable and satellite TV providers tracked in the study was 664 points, based on responses from 8,668 satellite TV and cable households.
"Our No. 1 ranking from J.D. Power and Associates shows that DISH Network, the home of the lowest all-digital price in America, provides the best customer service and the best value in the television industry," said Michael Kelly, executive vice president of Customer Service at EchoStar. "We now offer local channels by satellite to more than 90 of US TV households."
