Greece gets Olympic iTV

Award-winning interactive TV and games developer Visiware has teamed up withEurosport International to offer an exclusive new iTV service covering the Olympic Games on the Greek satellite television platform Nova.

The service allows viewers to bring up a window on their TV sets, which appears irrespective of which channel is being watched, thus permitting an accompaniment of continual live viewing of the Games, says advanced-television.com.

By pressing the OK button on their remotes, viewers may access a summary of the days events, along with a menu offering News, an Olympic Medal Board and a daily guide to Eurosport's programmes.

Eurosport also has its own i-mode web site for mobile phone users, offering information in a choice of five languages on football matches from Italy's Serie A, the UK's Premiership, Germany's Liga and Bundesliga and the French Ligue 1 and football from the Champions League, the UEFA Cup.

It also offers tennis coverage from the ATP, WTA, the Grand Slams and motor sport including Formula1, Moto GP - and the Olympics, offering real-time sports information on the latest results, standings, calendars and so on.
