The Digital TV Group, the industry association for digital television in the UK, has confirmed the appointment of Dermot Nolan as their new Director General.
Dermot Nolan brings twenty-five years' experience in broadcasting and telecoms strategy to the role having previously worked as a Director at a variety of consultancy firms specialising in the digital television and telecommunications industries.
Dermot has recently been working within Ofcom's Competition Policy Group spanning projects in the regulation of broadcasting, mobile and telecommunications industries.
DTG Chairman, Professor David Youlton said; "Dermot ticks so many boxes! Having been consulting on strategy in the communications industries for more than a quarter of a century Dermot brings a breadth of knowledge and wealth of experience that is truly unique."
"Whether on technical strategy, public policy or regulatory intervention, Dermot will add significant additional firepower to the already exceptional executive team at the DTG. Dermot's experience and drive will be vitally important as we move through digital conversion into the even more complex field of digital convergence."
