Comcast Corporation, the USA's largest US cable television operator and Far Eastern electronics manufacturer Matsushita Electric Industrial are joining forces to supply digital TV to US households.
According to Japanese daily paper Nihon Keizai Shimbun, this autumn Matsushita will start shipping set-top boxes designed to run digital software to the US cable giant.
Matsushita hopes to sell about 300,000 of the new set-tops in North America this year. There are about 64m cable TV subscribers in the US.
