By acquiring Telecom Italia's 19.9% stake in Sky Italia, Rupert Murdoch's entertainment and media group News Corp, the entertainment and media group led by Rupert Murdoch, has taken full control of the pay-TV platform.
News Corp has paid €88m to take full control of Sky Italia. Previously, Telecom Italia was News Corp's partner in Stream, the Italian satellite-TV operator.
Stream merged with Vivendi Universal's former Telepiù subsidiary to create Sky Italia almost two years ago.
