West region goes digital

The west TV region, serving Bristol, parts of Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, has now completed the switch to digital.

Shortly after midnight on 7 April, analogue BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and Five were turned off permanently enabling extra digital channels to be broadcast from 61 local relay transmitters serving the area.

Freeview viewers are advised to re-tune their equipment in order to receive the full service available. After retuning, some viewers may find they can receive services from both England and Wales. Advice on choosing preferred channels is available from Digital UK.
