Shetland goes digital

All analogue TV channels in Shetland have been switched off permanently, enabling the 9,000 households in the region to receive all-digital channels.

Shortly after midnight on 19 May, Analogue BBC One, STV, Channel 4 and Five were turned off at the Bressay transmitter group.

Digital UK is advising all residents to re-tune their TV equipment in order to receive extra channels.

The changes also affect existing Freeview viewers who may find some of their channels missing. The services have moved to new frequencies and can be restored by retuning Freeview TVs and boxes.
