Orkney goes digital

Orkney in Scotland has now completed the switch to digital television.

All analogue TV channels in Orkney were switched off permanently on 26 May at the Keelylang transmitter group, enabling extra channels to be broadcast from three local relay

transmitters serving hundreds of homes.

Digital UK is advising all residents to retune their Freeview equipment in order to receive the extra channels.

The changes also affect existing Freeview viewers who may find some of their channels missing. The services have moved to new frequencies and can be restored by retuning Freeview TVs and boxes.
