ESPN gains international football rights

ESPN has acquired the rights to broadcast at least 41 international football fixtures live on ESPN in the UK.

Starting this week with several pre-World Cup friendlies, featuring Argentina, USA, Czech Republic and Turkey, ESPN will also broadcast at least 16 Euro 2012 qualifiers and, at least 20 international friendlies in the coming months.

Additionally, ESPN will deliver live coverage of the Brazil World Tour, kicking off with the clash between the USA and Brazil on Tuesday 10th August at the new Giants Stadium in New York.

These deals build on ESPN's existing football coverage including Barclays Premier League, Clydesdale Bank Premier League, Germany's Bundesliga and the UEFA Europa League.
