Online video service Blinkbox has signed an additional 600 hours of free programming including deals with Shed Media's Outright Distribution and Target Entertainment Group.
Outright Distribution has agreed to license over 70 hours of programmes including Waterloo Road, Footballers' Wives, Bad Girls, and Lad's Army for free on an ad-supported basis. Shows from Target Entertainment Group include Billable Hours, The Cut and Corner Gas.
Existing partners All3Media, Fireworks International, 3DD Entertainment and Eagle Rock have also expanded their offering on blinkbox with shows such as Skins, Embarassing Bodies, Relic Hunter, Lost Treasures of the Ancient World and The Henry Rollins Show.
Michael Comish, CEO and co-founder of blinkbox said: "blinkbox is the only place on the internet where you can find all the all latest release blockbuster movies to buy and rent and watch loads of great TV shows and films for free. The last two years has seen many notable VOD services either go bankrupt or not enter the UK market. In that time, we have amassed a library of over 6,000 of the best films and TV shows in the world and attracted an audience of more than 1.2m users a month."
Tom McClelland, Sales Director Outright Distribution, added: "We are delighted that blinkbox has chosen Shed's titles to be included in their service. We believe that our content will be what blinkbox users are looking for."
