DVB publishes commercial requirements for 3DTV

The DVB Steering Board has approved a set of 20 commercial requirements for DVB-3DTV.

According to DVB, the main commercial requirement is that broadcasters can use an existing DVB HDTV broadcast channel, and viewers can use an existing or suitably adapted receiver to receive 3D content (known as 'frame compatible' 3DTV).

The document also outlines key commercial requirements for 3D subtitles, captions and electronic programme guides (EPG).
