Sky+ launches on Android

Sky has extended its Sky+ app to Google Android devices enabling Android users with a Sky+ or Sky+HD set-top box to set recordings of programmes via their mobile phone.

The application is free to download from Google Apps Marketplace and gives customers access to Sky's seven-day Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), where they can select programmes to record or series link.

David Gibbs, Sky Mobile General Manager said: "The success of the Sky+ app indicates that there is a real demand for innovative products such as Remote Record, which gives our customers more choice and control to plan their viewing over the TV love when they are on the move and away from home".

The new Sky+ Google Android app follows on from the launch of the iPhone app last year.
