Arqiva is to begin licensing the technology behind its online TV service SeeSaw to third parties internationally.
The technology behind SeeSaw comes from the failed Project Kangeroo venture between BBC Worldwide, ITV and Channel 4. Arqiva acquired the Project Kangaroo assets in July 2009.
Rob Hamlin, Strategic Development Director for Arqiva Terrestrial Broadcast, said: "Arqiva is serious about providing infrastructure for television online. The recent launch of SeeSaw has attracted significant worldwide interest and resulted in numerous enquiries about the technology platform. Arqiva's new VOD solution is designed by broadcasters for broadcasters and meets clear demand for a proven, scalable and robust platform for aggregated IP-delivered video content."
