The digital TV switchover across Norfolk, Suffolk and parts of Essex will commence on 6 July 2011, Digital UK have announced.
Switchover at the Tacolneston and Sudbury transmitter groups will see the five analogue TV
channels switched off permanently and the Freeview digital service boosted to reach virtually all households across the east of the region.
Homes previously in digital blackspots will be able to receive Freeview channels for the first time, according to Digital UK.
Analogue signals will be switched off in two stages at each transmitter group. The Sudbury transmitter group serving parts of Suffolk and Essex will begin switchover on 6 July and end on 20 July. The Talcolneston transmitter group will start the switchover process on 9 November 2011 to be completed on 23 November 2011.
