Channel 4 and video-on-demand (VOD) service provider FilmFlex, have today announced the launch of Film4oD, Film4's online video-on-demand service.
Film4oD will be available at www.film4.com/film4oD and will house a selection of new films available to rent online, with over 500 films available at launch and many available on the same day as their DVD release. According to a statement issued by Channel 4, the new on-demand service will closely replicate the editorial tone and content of the Film4 channel.
Julia Wrigley, Head of Film4 Channel, said: "Film4 is delighted to team up with FilmFlex to provide another opportunity to showcase 'great films you know, great films you don't'. Viewers will be able to rent films which will amplify the seasons broadcast on the Film4 Channel, from the 9pm seasons like Sci-Fi and Comedy, to the finest foreign language and home-grown movies, including films made by Film4 Productions."
