John Lewis has announced sales of 157.8 million during the week before Christmas, with TVs, tablets and laptops being among the most popular purchases.
In addition to being a popular Christmas purchase, tablets were also used by customers to do online sale shopping. On Christmas Eve johnlewis.com saw 28% of traffic coming from tablets. Once all those receiving tablets as Christmas presents had opened their gifts, this number surged to 35% of traffic on Christmas Day. The value of orders received from tablets has more than doubled since last year showing how shopping habits have shifted in just 12 months.
