John Lewis reports record Christmas electronics sales

John Lewis has announced sales of 157.8 million during the week before Christmas, with TVs, tablets and laptops being among the most popular purchases.

In addition to being a popular Christmas purchase, tablets were also used by customers to do online sale shopping. On Christmas Eve saw 28% of traffic coming from tablets. Once all those receiving tablets as Christmas presents had opened their gifts, this number surged to 35% of traffic on Christmas Day. The value of orders received from tablets has more than doubled since last year showing how shopping habits have shifted in just 12 months.
