Youtube to enable offline viewing

Youtube has announced that come November viewers will be able to watch videos while offline, as a new feature to its mobile app.

The feature will allow viewers to add videos to their devices to store and watch for a short period of time while not connected to the internet.

Posting the announcement on their creators blog, Youtube said “This upcoming feature will allow people to add videos to their device to watch for a short period when an Internet connection is unavailable. So your fans’ ability to enjoy your videos no longer has to be interrupted by something as commonplace as a morning commute.”

It is currently against YouTube’s rules to download videos despite many apps offering viewers the possibility to do so.
