Cassian Harrison appointed as Channel Editor, BBC Four

Janice Hadlow, Controller BBC Two and BBC Four, has announced that Cassian Harrison has been appointed as Channel Editor, BBC Four, responsible for the day-to-day running of the channel.

Janice Hadlow says: "I'm delighted with this appointment and look forward to working closely with Cassian. I know that he will ensure that BBC Four remains as distinctive, unique and valued by audiences as it has come to be in recent years."

Cassian Harrison says: "It's an extraordinary privilege to be given the chance to help run the BBC's best-loved channel. Luckily I am in the amazing position of being able to build on the legacy of one great BBC Four Controller, Richard Klein, whilst having by my side the advice and support of Richard's brilliant predecessor, Janice Hadlow, not to mention a fantastic channel team. I look forward to continuing BBC Four's unrivalled reputation for insightful, surprising and innovative television of every kind."

In recent months Cassian has been working as channel executive for BBC Two and Four with a focus on increasing collaboration between the two channels across programming, scheduling, marketing and digital innovation.

Before joining the BBC, Cassian had an extensive record as an innovative and award-winning producer and executive producer, responsible for major BBC series such as Britain From Above and hard-hitting current affairs films such as Beneath The Veil for Channel 4.
