OpenTV, the interactive television (iTV) software developer, has appointed former Time Warner veteran Mazin Jadallah to the newly created post of senior vice president of strategic development.
Jadallah will work closely with OpenTV CEO Jim Chiddix to map OpenTV's strategic direction, and will oversee business development.
"I have known Mazin for many years and have admired his integrity, knowledge and determination," said Chiddix.
"His deep understanding of our cable partners, and his broad background and demonstrated expertise in the media, entertainment and technology industries will be critical in mapping our strategic direction in the iTV industry."
Prior to OpenTV, Jadallah served as vice president, corporate development for Time Warner Interactive Group's Mystro TV Division where he led the development of a product business plan bringing digital cable customers the world's first network personal video recorder (PVR) service.
OpenTV's interactive television software is deployed in over 47m digital set-top-boxes in 96 countries.
