BBC "dominates" festive viewing

The most popular TV programme over the festive period (Christmas Day to New Years Eve) was reported as being BBC One's coverage of the New Years Eve fireworks—peaking at 14.1m viewers and a further 1m views on YouTube.

This is followed by a Christmas Day edition of Mrs Brown's Boys (11.5m viewers) but it is expected that "Still Open All Hours", starring David Jason and shown on Boxing Day, will top the Christmas week ratings after indications from BARB that it was watched by more than 12m viewers.

ITV grabbed the third and fourth most popular slot on Christmas Day with Coronation Street and Downton Abbey pulling in 9.83m and 9.41m viewers, respectively.
