BT has agreed to make its sports channels available over Google Chromecast, in a move that "reduces its dependence on YouView".
BT has committed more than £1.6 billion to football rights and is only the second UK broadcaster to place its content on Google's streaming software—joining BBC iPlayer.
The Chromecast went on sale last month for £30, with a limited range of content and is competing with several other internet streaming devices, including Now TV, offered by Sky, and YouView, which is backed by free-to-air broadcasters and BT and TalkTalk.
No launch date for BT Sports on Chromecast has been announced.
