BBC Announces plans for their World Cup coverage

The BBC has, in the past few years, really gone to town with their sports coverage from the 2012 Olympics to the 2014 Winter Olympics. With the World Cup just a month away they have now revealed their plans for the event which is hosted in Brazil between 12th June—13th July and will be "the first truly 24/7 World Cup [...] delivering a complete experience for audiences through both traditional and digital platforms."

This includes extended coverage on the BBC Sport App for smartphones and tablets which will give users the fastest updates, live commentary and even automatic goal updates.

Barbara Slater, Director, BBC Sport said "We've put together a great cast of pundits, presenters, commentators and reporters to steer audiences though the tournament and we can’t wait to bring the infectious excitement of this competition to our viewers and listeners wherever and whenever they want it."
