BT launches Extra Box for BT TV in multiple rooms

DTG Members, BT are now offering their BT TV customers the option of running a second YouView+ box in the same house.

The second box will mirror the same channel subscriptions as the first, although Sky Movies won't be available. To get this second box, customers will need to purchase a new YouView+ box and take out a 12-month Extra Box subscription for just £5 per month.

This comes after BT TV announced that it had passed one million customers at the end of the first quarter of 2014 following recent developments of the Pay-TV service. These included offering buy-to-keep movies as well as rentals and adding five more HD Channels. In February, BT also launched the fastest, smallest YouView+ box on the market to extremely positive reviews.

Director of TV for BT, Alex Green said: "We are delighted to be able to offer BT customers the added flexibility of having two YouView+ boxes in their home. [...] We believe this offers the best quality TV experience and the most competitive bundle with fibre in the market."

What do you think? How many people will take up a second box in their home? It certainly worked for Sky and their 'multi-room' offering.
