TalkTalk has launched TV2Go, a new app that allows customers to watch live channels and on-demand content on the go when connected to a Wi-Fi connection, amid growing investment in its TV offering.
TalkTalk aims to provide a seamless viewing experience for subscribers, as the app lets you pause on-demand shows on the YouView box and pick up from where you left off on the app and vice versa.
TalkTalk has said that it is the first quad play – broadband, TV, mobile and phone – provider to offer this functionality. TV2Go also includes a feature that plays all episodes in series one after another.
Olivia Streatfield, commercial director at TalkTalk, said: “Over the last few months, TalkTalk has demonstrated its relentless focus on developing its TV offering. In January we acquired pay as you go movie and TV streaming service, Blinkbox Movies.
“Days later we announced the addition of Netflix to our platform. TalkTalk also benefits from a long-running commercial partnership with Sky and last year added seven Sky entertainment channels to its Plus TV package...The TV2Go app demonstrates our commitment to continually improve our service and give TalkTalk homes even more for their money.”
TalkTalk believes the TV2Go app will give subcribers more for their TV package. It has launched this app in time for half term and included on it the Adventures of Paddington Bear free until 11 March. TV2Go is free and can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store.
