GEORGE OSBORNE: BBC TRUST DOESN'T WORK

The BBC Trust would be likely to be replaced by Ofcom regulation if the Conservatives return to power, George Osborne has told the Radio Times.

The chancellor also said a Tory government will continue to explore alternatives to the licence fee as part of the BBC's charter renewal discussions. Broadcast has more.

LONG-FORM VIDEO LOSING POPULARITY

Viewing figures for traditional long-form film and TV content has dropped 13% worldwide inthe past year, with strong declines among every age group up to 55 years old.

The Accenture survey found viewers moving from TV to personal screens suffering a variety of problems with long-form video such as advertising placement, buffering and poor sound, IPTV News reports.
