DTG daily news: missing iPlayer data and TalkTalk TV on the rise

Missing data compounds iPlayer slump

Around 10 million iPlayer requests were uncounted as the BBC reported a 7% year-on-year drop in traffic during March.

Broadband TV News reports that the 278m requests measured should have been higher, although the figures would still have been down on the 301m recorded in March 2014.

TalkTalk takes third place in UK pay-TV

TalkTalk's TV platform has become the third most-popular in the UK, with 1.4m customers, overtaking BT with 82,000 new additions in the first quarter of 2015.

The Guardian reports that TalkTalk will launch ultrafast consumer broadband in York this autumn, with plans for a national roll-out to 10m homes and a continued regulatory attack on BT.
