Telecoms Company Lebara has launched its first OTT video platform, aimed at migrants living in Europe. The service, called Lebara Play, will offer over 150 TV channels and 30,000 movies and will be accessible for viewers living in the UK, Germany, Netherlands and France.
Lebara bills itself as "the universal brand for the world's migrant community," and Yoganathan Ratheesan, Lebara CEO, said: "Serving the migrant community is at the core of everything we do." The service will initially be aimed at Tamil, Turkish, French West African and English West African audiences in Europe with an expanding package set to cover 13 languages in total.
Debuting at the start of June, Lebara Play will be available on select set-top boxes, mobiles, tablets and computers—while Lebara has stated its intentions to take the service outside of Europe by the end of the year.
