Freesat puts Freetime EPG to work in Europe

UK free-to-air satellite platform Freesat has licensed the technology underlying its hybrid Freetime TV guide to Italy's Tivusat to launch a new OTT service.

The EPG is being marketed to platforms outside the UK under the Metaphor brand and includes a companion application for Android and iOS.

Sony chooses Dolby Vision for 4k HDR

Sony Picture Home Entertainment will master its 4k Ultra HD content for high dynamic range using the Dolby Vision process.

The studio said it plans to release a growing slate of Dolby Vision 4k Ultra HD titles in HDR in the coming months.

Vision247 acquiring Synapse from S&T

Broadcast services provide Vision247 will acquire the interactive TV application and services specialist Synapse TV from TV tech innovators S&T.

The deal will enable Vision247 to deploy its Connected Freeview service, including Vision TV, across the HbbTB services, as well as offering Synapse's products internationally.
