DTG’s CTO Simon Gauntlett and Principal IP Engineer George Robertson will be attending the 12th annual TV Connect next week (26 – 28 April) at ExCel London.
In the UX & Next-Gen Formats session, Simon is presenting ‘The UHD Pulse Check’ at 12:15 today. He will be giving delegates an overview of the current situation with UHD standards, products and services and discuss how it all fits together.
Simon’s presentation will be based on the work of the UK UHD Forum, which brings together studios, broadcasters, CE manufacturers and everyone involved in the UHD ecosystem to discuss UHD standards and interoperability.
Later this afternoon at 16:50, Simon will be chairing the Panel Debate on ‘Ultra High Definition television: when will hype become reality?’ which closes Day 1 of the show. He will be joined by panelists from DPP Member companies who will look at all the key timelines that have to come together for UHD to become mainstream.
On Day 3 (Thursday) George will be participating in a Panel Discussion on ‘Effective Ecosystem Collaboration for Better Content Distribution’ at 14:30 joining fellow panellists from Sky and EE.
