Introducing Sky's VR App

On 3rd October, Sky announced its first foray into VR with the launch of a VR app. Aimed as a curated home for high quality VR content, content can be viewed as 360 VR (2D) panoramic video on a smartphone, as a fully immersive VR on a headset such as the Samsung Gear VR, or even using a Google Cardboard. Launch content includes:

  • Anthony Joshua: Becoming World Champion - A journey with the athlete as he becomes the IBF world heavyweight champion
  • Paul McCartney: Dance Tonight - an immersive story of the creation of this song and the music video
  • Warner Brothers Suicide Squad: Square 360 - a perspective experience as one of the members of the Suicide Squad
  • Star Wars: Red Carpet - footage from the premier of Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The app is free to download and can be done so using Google Play or the Apple Store. Read more
