We are very pleased to be launching three new working groups underneath the umbrella of the Technical Steering Group – these will be the End User Experience Group, the Distribution Group and the Next Generation Media Group.
Xperi’s Charles Dawes will co-chair the End User Experience Group (second co-chair to follow), while Limelight’s Steve Miller-Jones will co-chair the Distribution Group (second co-chair to follow). The Next Generation Media Group will be jointly helmed by Dolby’s Simon Gauntlett and NBC Universal’s Andy Lucas.
The groups will kick off in the next few weeks and invitations will follow separately.
Commenting, our CEO Richard Lindsay-Davies said: “Our working group chairs lead the best minds from the wider TV industry, to inform, shape and direct our work. Together we turn thinking into solutions. Our new working group structure reflects the challenges and exciting opportunities of the digital TV market and an IP and hybrid media future, as it continues to evolve and disrupt.”
Yvonne Thomas, our Strategic Technologist, added: “I’m very excited to see some new faces among the group chairs. With the new Technical Experts Forums [TEFs] we have established a flexible and sustainable structure supported by experts in the task groups.”
