As VP, Digital at A+E Networks, what is your biggest priority currently?
My key priority is to maximise the reach of our shows in the right way, on the right platform, at the right time
What do you think is the biggest challenge that the television industry needs to address?
Customer attention spans are limited and in an endless choice of content, cut-through is getting harder.
Which area of innovation excites you most and why?
As a customer I spend too long choosing what to watch based on different criteria – am I alone or watching with family? Is it daytime or evening viewing? What mood am I in? So, anything that makes it easier to get to content quicker always gets my vote.
What might “watching TV” look like in 2030?
This is very much the focus of our discussion for the DTG Summit, and I can’t wait to discuss further. I predict two options – fragmentation or fusion.
What is your current favourite TV Show?
I do enjoy a medical drama having grown up on E.R. so loved This Is Going To Hurt. Ben Whishaw was brilliant as the funny but fallible Adam Kay.
What is your desert island luxury item?
A bed or hammock. If I don’t get a good night’s sleep, then it’s not going to be a productive day!
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I nearly became a professional show jumper, but my love of horses was replaced by my love of TV.
If you weren’t working in this sector, where would you be working?
Working in a cheetah sanctuary in South Africa!
