Tell us a little bit about HDMI LA
HDMI Technology is the leading digital video, audio and data interface that connects the world-wide ecosystem of ultra high-definition displays to a wide range of consumer electronics, PC, automotive and commercial AV devices.

What’s the most exciting project coming up for HDMI LA?
We are constantly looking to improve the user experience without having the consumer be a tech wiz! To that end we have introduced a new featured call Source Based Tone Mapping (SBTM) to bring an even better HDR experience regardless of which device, TV or external box, you choose to use.

What are you most excited for at the DTG UHD Plugfest?
This is the first major Plugfest event in nearly three years! These Plugfest events are vital to a healthy CE ecosystem, not just for HDMI tecdhnology, and we are excited to support what we hope is just be beginning of more plugfests worldwide, like it used to be before the pandemic.

What does Television Beyond Imagination look like for HDMI LA?
The ultimate goal is where the TV provides a picture and immersive experience better and more realistic than looking out a window.

What is the biggest issue you think we can address together through cross-industry collaboration?
Consistent user experience. New technology and feature adoption is typically hampered by a not-so-good user experience; so collaboration is key to avoid that and help the ecosystem to grow, which helps everyone in the industry.

Tell us something people might not know about HDMI LA
When we first created HDMI we thought if we had 100 Adopters of the HDMI technology, that would be considered a “homerun!” for us. Twenty years later we are at 1900+ Adopters and about one billion HDMI devices shipping every year. We never imagined that number in our wildest dreams!
