Tell us briefly, what does Yotta do?

We are a tech explorer and creator. We make innovative products to delight our customers. Yotta Media, part of Yotta, creates Operator Applications for TVs and set-top boxes that are sold around the world.

We can develop for any platform but specialise in HbbTV Operator Applications and Android Operator Tier Applications. CE partners include: Sony, Samsung, LG, Vestel, Hisense, TP Vision, and Panasonic. Established on both sides of the Atlantic in ATSC and HbbTV, clients include: HD+, Tivùsat, Freesat, and Pearl TV.

What is your mission as a company?

We believe that technology should be simple to use and enjoyed by everyone. Our tech experts aim to develop world-class products that make life easier, better and more fun.

What sets you apart from the competition?

Our unwavering dedication to innovation! We love to learn at Yotta HQ, priding ourselves on being at the forefront of the industry, constantly using this knowledge to push boundaries. Yotta Media has become the first to integrate DVB-I in an HbbTV Operator Application and will be showcasing this at IBC 2022.

What is the most exciting thing coming up for Yotta?

The OTA (Over-the-Air) interactive space is fragmented and split from CTV (Connected TV). Therefore, one set of global regulations to give all viewers a gold standard experience of watching TV wherever they are would help in: ROI for broadcasters, FAST Channel providers, and CE manufacturers; and increase the reach of audiences for advertisers.

What is the biggest issue you think we can address together through cross-industry collaboration?

Standardisation of Object Based Media enabling BSL on demand just as we have subtitles and audio description on demand today.

What might people not know about your company?

We are not just UK-based but international. Yotta Media partnerships with CE manufacturers have enabled operators like HD+ to implement HbbTV Operator Applications in Germany, Ghana, and Tivùsat in Italy, for the first time. In the US, we’ve helped Pearl TV, A3SA and Run3TV to deliver interactive products with over 180 services, across 30 markets and with 20 broadcasters. We are assisting with deployments in Jamaica and Brazil.
