ReelSphere, the new automated, AI-powered video content generation tool, provides the weather information that your viewers and sponsors crave and a new revenue stream that your company desires.

What is your mission as a company?

  • Instil confidence: Earn customer trust by putting science and technology to work.
  • Drive decisions: Power better decisions for both individuals and businesses.
  • Propel the world: Fuel collective progress to people, places, and the planet.

What sets you apart from the competition?

In the face of growing weather volatility and a changing climate, people and businesses rely more on forecasts and weather intelligence than ever to make decisions. Powered by proprietary GRAF technology (Global High-Resolution Atmospheric Forecasting), The Weather Company is the world’s most accurate forecaster and a trusted weather partner for people and businesses everywhere.

What is the most exciting thing coming up for The Weather Company?

The Weather Company is excited to be building and moving many of their solutions to the cloud which allows for easier collaboration and content sharing, remote access, and greater productivity. Also, the use of AI will continue to be explored to improve forecast accuracy, streamline workflows and enable countless other narrated languages to be offered in ReelSphere.

What is the biggest issue you think we can address together through cross-industry collaboration?

Issue: Broadcast and media companies around the world are facing funding challenges as audiences move to alternatives, often to digital platforms of global providers. How can a local broadcaster maintain and grow viewership while also driving their own revenue on digital?

Solution: Weather continues to be one of the prime reasons audiences tune into broadcasts. Presenters describe the weather in context, with clarity on the impact.  Especially true in severe weather.  As weather is increasingly unpredictable, audience interest will grow. There is a need to build understanding and to assist in developing weather strategies to engage audiences throughout their day on the platforms they choose.

What might people not know about your company?

Weather may be in our name but that’s not the whole story. What started as an idea in a basement studio, has grown into one of the world’s most trusted brands and the world’s most accurate forecaster—distinctions we don’t take for granted and work tirelessly to uphold. And as our world continues to evolve, so do we. In fact, we’re just getting started.

Our weather forecasts are used in other industries including aviation, defence and we operate The Weather Channel consumer app with around 400 million monthly active users.

In today’s rapidly changing world, there is no shortage of challenges to solve. Weather is becoming more erratic, consumer behaviour and expectations are shifting, and businesses are trying to survive amidst unprecedented social and economic unrest.

Since our inception nearly five decades ago, The Weather Company has combined human, meteorological expertise with trusted technology to drive progress. And while we must continue to innovate to keep pace, our mission has never wavered.
