We would like to invite you to the 9th Plugfest, jointly organised by German TV-Platform and DTG in cooperation with Ultra HD Forum, and hosted by German TV-Platform (DTVP) in Berlin at 3IT / Fraunhofer HHI from 5th to 6th December 2018. The 9th Plugfest will primarily focus on UHD live content. However, other elements can be added to the agenda at the request or need of the participants.
TV sets and set-top boxes will be included to provide an opportunity for interoperability testing. The idea is to technically reproduces production, contribution, processing, distribution and consumption issues from the 2018 FIFA World Cup and other recent live sports events.
The Plugfest would aim to eventually deploy an end-to-end delivery of HDR video, at a minimum pre-processed conversion from Slog3 to HLG, PQ and SDR, packaged for RF (DVB-S or DVB-C or DVB-T) delivery, for Multicast IPTV delivery and DASH delivery for On Demand/Live Streaming Emulation.
Additionally, DTVP and DTG members are encouraged to introduce further test content and interoperability use cases. This could include UHD-HDR Content from German Broadcasters and Tests Scenarios coming from the recent Logo discussion hosted by German TV-Platform.
Companies which aren´t members of DTVP or DTG are welcome to attend if they would like to contribute to the Plugfest, but are asked to participate with an attendance fee.
Please note that as for the past events, attendance is subject to prior registration and to the signature of the participant agreement, which warrants strict confidentiality.
As the DTVP / DTG-Plugfests are very popular industry events, we advise registering at your earliest convenience.
