The appetite of UK viewers to embrace new content and ways to experience it, coupled with the dramatic rise of global streaming businesses and constant march of technology, make the UK digital television and audio-visual industries among the most exciting and challenging in the world.
The Digital TV Group (DTG) is an independent not-for-profit company, that acts as a world-class collaboration centre for all the main businesses and stakeholders in the UKs digital TV sector. Digital TV is an essential part of the UKs future competitive success, and we are here to ensure collaboration and protect the consumer experience through tried and tested interoperability measures implemented and universally deployed in the market. The DTG specifies televisions sold in the UK and provides a platform to ensure the UK remains at the forefront of global innovation.
DTG Council is seeking to appoint an outstanding leader as an independent chair. The appointee will play a vital role in providing high-level vision and direction, strong stakeholder engagement (particularly with C-suite strategic leaders within industry, government and its agencies), and ensure executive accountability.
We are seeking a highly regarded leader to chair DTG Council and Board who, alongside industry Council Members, Non-Executive Directors and the Chief Executive Officer, will be responsible for the group’s engagement with industry, strategic direction and governance. As Chair, you will lead a diverse group of senior industry executives and deliver an ambitious and sustainable strategy, empowering the UK digital television industry. You will help lead the UKs innovation in digital technology television on the global stage.
With significant strategic leadership experience gained at a senior level in the UK and internationally, you will have a track record of making an impact in boardroom environments. You will understand the roles of R&D, collaboration, innovation and commercialisation and be a highly skilled communicator, practiced in influencing at the highest levels. You will be a prominent figure in UK digital television technology and strategy, with the ability to secure engagement with both senior players within industry, government and its agencies. You will be cognizant of current developments and trends in both the traditional digital television, streaming and data industries, with the ability to mobilise a network of international contacts.
25,000 for a time commitment of c.21 days per annum. The term is 3 years with an option to extend by a further three years. UK based.
