This morning, the DTG held a breakfast roundtable with a group of Content Publishers, Network Metrics Analysts and Internet Service Providers, all with the intent to identify the challenges of delivering a reliable and high-quality streaming experience for viewers.
As the world of media converges, and we begin to prepare for an IP future, it is crucial to collaborate with our colleagues in other markets. As our Membership grows to include a new type of specialism, we are in a unique position that allows us to get all the right people around the table to discuss the future of video streaming.
In the discussion, it was recognised that although there are similar problems across the world concerning service deployment, it will not be a ‘one size fits all’ scenario. Each country, region or continent is experiencing slight differences when it comes to issues around network infrastructure, and types of content watched.
Our efforts will now go into exploring these issues further, collaborating with our members and other associations to ensure a solid future for TV in the UK.
The DTG has a wealth of resources available to its Members which includes reports, papers, infographics and presentations. We also have an extensive DTG Archive which covers broadcast industry developments over almost a quarter of a century. However some DTG publications are available by email on a complimentary basis.Find Out More
