James Gibbons – Discovery


James Gibbons is EVP General Manager UK & ANZ at Discovery.

James manages the UK market which is a major hub for Discovery. In the UK, he is responsible for a business that encompasses 18 channel brands including Discovery Channel, Eurosport, TLC, Quest, Quest Red and Really, and AVOD aggregation service dplay. His commercial development team work across more than 140 EMEA markets.

James has been with Discovery for 20 years, working in management roles and territories across the globe. Previously he served as General Manager for Emerging Business and Head of Product & Business Development for the Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region, spearheading transformative partnerships and significantly expanding Discovery’s presence. He also led the growth and consolidation of its Japanese business in his role as President of Discovery Japan.

James studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University.
