Tell us briefly, what does News UK do?

News UK is one of the leading media businesses in the UK and Ireland. Our news brands include The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Sun on Sunday and The TLS. Our national broadcast brands include talkSPORT, Times Radio, TalkTV and Virgin Radio UK, and we have market-leading local radio stations across Ireland.

Our world-famous brands provide news, analysis, opinion and entertainment to almost 40 million people each month. Spanning print and pixel, audio and video, events and experiences, our multi-format brands are home to a plurality of opinion, representing the diverse communities we serve. News UK is wholly owned by News Corp.

What is your mission as a company?

Driven by passion, guided by principles and acting with purpose, we exist to promote a fair society, freedom of speech and a little bit of fun. Rethinking continually the business of storytelling, we represent, reflect and reach the nation, enabling audiences to make decisions based on trusted information.

What sets you apart from the competition?

Our TV service, TalkTV, is the new voice for viewers interested in straight-talking opinion and expert insight on news, current affairs, sport and entertainment.  The talent roster for TalkTV includes Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, Vanessa Feltz, Jeremy Kyle, Nicola Thorp, Mike Graham, Julia Hartley-Brewer and many more. Talk broadcasts on linear TV, on digital radio, on streaming services, via its own free app, online and on social media platforms.

What is the most exciting thing coming up for News UK?

News UK is in a constant state of transformation, powered by its best-in-class digital infrastructure and award-winning first-party data insight. In the Digital TV space, TalkTV has launched a raft of new shows for the autumn season, including a powerhouse new breakfast show called Talk Today with Jeremy Kyle and Nicola Thorp, a new lunchtime show with Julia Hartley-Brewer and Prime Time with Rosanna Lockwood at 7pm.

What is the biggest issue you think we can address together through cross-industry collaboration?

The growth of CTV and IP services has created an explosion of choice but left viewers with a bewildering array of EPGs, platforms and viewing guides to navigate as they seek out the best and most relevant shows to watch.  Industry partnerships and collaboration provide us with the collective pathway to creating viewing experiences which put the needs of UK audiences front and centre.

What might people not know about your company?

As a channel, TalkTV has over 1bn total digital views since launch and we average 1m views a day of TalkTV content.
